| One
day four young gentleman hailing from drastically normal neighborhoods
and drastically different musical upbringings formed Crackjaw.
After small growing pains and a constant search for common ground
Crackjaw has become one of the most recognized bands in Detroit,
MI. and are steadily gaining fans in the Midwest, South and East
coast.
With influences including Silverchair, The Refused, Rush and Candiria
their ability to craft a great song and still wax thrash with
subtle hardcore is something that many have tried and very few
can pull off.
After doing some professional recording and throwing out their
first attempt Crackjaw recorded a two-song demo at Spider Studio’s
in Cleveland, OH. in September 2003. After releasing the new tunes
that fall, the buzz basically began! Quickly the band returned
to Spider Studio’s to record more songs mainly to follow
the buzz they had created and to get more material to the hot
shots that requested it. Crackjaw has sold thousands of copies
of this four-song ep over the last 2 years.
In early March 2005 Crackjaw started pre-production for their
highly anticipated new record. By April, the band had written
and recorded 20 songs. In April the band chose the best 10 songs
and went back into the studio to start recording "Giants
from the Stereo" which was they released DIY in October,
2005.
In January 2006 I Scream Records & Crackjaw inked a 2 record
deal and the official release of “Giants From The Stereo”.
This to give this amazing record worldwide distribution and promotion.
It’s always impossible for a band to tell the reader or
consumer what they sound like but lets not try to be to intellectual
here Crackjaw stems into catchy rock’ crotch’ &
roll hardcore and gets compared to bands like The Used, My Chemical
Romance, The Refused and Incubus.
Currently Crackjaw is receiving airplay on college radio stations
across the country and is spun weekly on 89X Detroit’s biggest
alternative rock station. Along with playing the upwards of 250
live shows in the Midwest, South and East Coast of the country
in 2005. Crackjaw has supported artists such as, A Wilhelm Scream
(Nitro Records), Chronic Future (Interscope Records), Chimaira
(Roadrunner Records), Taproot (Atlantic), The Suicide machine’s
(Hollywood Records), Trust Company (Geffen Records), and Adema
(Arista Records). Crackjaw was also selected to play the 2005
Warped Tour.
With "Giants from the Stereo" Crackjaw hopes to touch
most of the world, punch authority figures, find some interest
and work really hard to make this something that people will run
to hear. |
